I'm confused. Why did your friend get visited after he bought a rifle from you? The 5 a year limit is for selling guns.Comment

So the buyer was denied the first time, claimed they "never received" the letter, and doesn't know the exact reason for the denial... Your friend is not smart if he expects a different result the second time because, presumably, nothing will have changed on the buyer's end since they don't even know what to fix to begin with.My friend (seller) has a buyer that was denied by DOJ. This was the seller's 5th PPT of the year.
Buyer never received the denial letter - suspected lost in mail by USPS. Buyer tried calling DOJ for more information on the denial letter and reason for denial, but DOJ would not discuss with him.
Buyer wants to re-DROS the firearm, and if denied again, hopes that the denial letter will arrive with next steps.
Would this put the seller over the 5 yearly transaction limit?
Is re-DROSing the best option for the buyer, or are there other ways of investigating the denial?
There's more to the story that your friend is leading you to believe because there's no purchase limit on firearms.Comment

Per the buyer's thread, he did receive the email but did not act quick enough to appeal and now needs another letter of denial so he can appeal within the window. So the buyer was denied the first time, claimed they "never received" the letter, and doesn't know the exact reason for the denial... Buyer is a really cool guy so I didn't mind helping him.Comment

I guess I don't understand what you're implying. The restriction of no more than 5 PPT sales transactions/year only applied to sellers. How would your friend get investigated for buying firearms, regardless of 8th or 20th transaction? Unless there is more info?
"Section 26500. License required for sale, lease, or transfer of firearms.
(a) No person shall sell,Section 26500 does not apply to the infrequent salehe person conducts less than six transactions per calendar year.
(2) The person sells, leases, or transfers no more than 50 total firearms per calendar year."
ETA: I should have scrolled down further in thread. This was already asked several times, but no answer yet.Last edited by AregularGuy; 04-23-2022, 5:43 AM.All posts dedicated to the memory of Stronzo Bestiale
