    My new Knife. *PICS*

So I got this last friday, Benchmade Griptilian 551. Loving it so far. The axis lock is awesome.

threw my OLL in there for good measure.

I had a ritter griptilian, good knife but I lost it. I would really love it if they made a griptilian with a G10 handle.

Not trying to sound stupid but is that legal in Ca? Is it an open assist?

Yeah it's legal, no it's not an open assist (though open assist knives aren't illeal, either).

I used to have a Griptillian. Lost it after 3 years and replaced it with a Benchmade 710.

Benchmade-Osborne 942 silver on black is my EDC, but I broke the tip off and its back at Benchmade getting a new blade. Back-up carry is a Benchmade-Mel Pardue 720 black on camo. Both axis-lock, both amazing knives.

While I have more knives than I can probably count I have never been to enamoured with the typical tactical folders. That being said, I picked up a Griptilian for my youngest kid for Christmas last year and have been pleasantly suprised with it. Nice knife, wonderful action on it, and it is a pretty useful size. I really like the way it sounds when you snap the blade out on that thing, it has a real nice solid lock up to it.

                    Nice Knife

I have a SOG but its worn down and a little loose.

I was looking at one of these Benchmades, always been impressed with their quality

nice! a buddy carries a Griptillian and really likes it. he's only had it about a year and has already put a lot of miles on it.

i've EDC'd a Pardue 722 for about 5 years, now: black/black, tanto combo, Al grips. i couldn't find the G10, the 722 was discontinued when i bought mine so it was hard to fine one at all, but the aluminum grips do well for opening bottles!

BlackDrop50, if you're gonna buy Benchmade, buy one with an Axis lock. all other knife actions feel primitive to me now. in my book, fast opening is only half of the action; a knife that closes one-handed in a controlled manner is much, much safer to work with.

Congrats! Griptilians are great knives, I'm also looking for mine, I seemed to have misplaced mine.

My newest Benchmade arrived recently.. (top one, bottom is EDC)

                          Gotta love Benchmades..
