Just out of curiosity, what advantage is it to work through an "Infinity Dealer" than to use the gun builder, pay them the $1,000 deposit, have them build the .45 that is on the roster, ship it to an FFL of one's choice and then ship it back to them for final configuration?

Are you giving discounts compared to SVI prices? I assume you will also charge a sales tax to boot.

You will not get a discount for the conversion. Just order one and they will send you a roster compatible .45 which you send back after DROS for the conversion.

I have obviously never shot a 2011, that is why I want the communities opinion, primarily from those who have shot 2011's as well as some of my guns I will list below;

Glock 45 (9mm)
Glock 34 Wilson Combat (9mm)
Sig P320 X5 Legion (9mm)
CZ Tactical Sport 2 (9mm)
CZ Accushadow 2 (9mm)
Springfield 1911 TRP Operator Full Rail (.45)

It's all about the trigger, and its tuning potential.

Your CZs are really nice guns and may have tuned triggers, but ultimately still are rotating pin-lever type triggers: they move in an arc and when released after firing need a bit of travel before it resets the sear.

A 1911/2011 trigger slides in and out in a straight line, and can be tuned to have minimum take-up (pre-travel), over-travel and reset travel. We're talking like 1/16th of an inch of travel.

A basic 2011 (e.g. STI Edge) is essentially your Springfield TRP with a plastic grip module that has double ammo the capacity (16 rounds of 45ACP or 21 rounds of 9mm when using MBX 126mm flush-fit magazines) compared to a 1911.

A nice 2011 (e.g. Phoenix Trinity Honcho) is essentially a hand-fitted CZ Tactical Sport Orange with a 1911-style trigger. And uses magazines that cost $125 each.

I got a chance to shoot a PT Honcho once, and it shot so smooth, it made .40 major PF loads feel like light 9mm.

You will be charged sales tax regardless, but yes we give a small discount and can sometimes get things a bit faster than ordering direct

One big thing I love about buying off roster guns is that I baby the **** out of my guns, and even though I will probably NEVER sell ANY of them... I like feeling the sense that they will never really de-value if maintained.

Yeah, those are fantastic guns... my Accushadow shoots like a dream, almost feels like a real life "cheat code" - I am planning on having EXTENSIVE work done on my TS2 by CZC... I suspect it will be outrageously accurate by the time it's done.

looks like you have already done this... looks fantastic!!! How does it compare to a STI/Atlas or any other similar 2011? how much did you spend overall? if you don't mind me asking that is... I really want to do this, maybe private message me if you don't want to post?

My 1911 has a fantastic trigger, amongst one of the best I've tried, however when I first shot my Accushadow in SA mode I was blown away, I was a firm believer that nothing can beat my 1911 trigger outside of another 1911, but the Accushadow smokes it in my opinion.

I thought my Accushadow would be unbeatable until I shot my TS2 for the first time about a month ago. it sure isn't as refined, but the 1.8 pound pull is outrageous, and scary.

I spoke to CZC and they said that once they do the full trigger job, replace the shoe with a flat trigger, and hammer work it should pull close to or at 1 pound flat. Anything lighter than that they said was way too dangerous.

I plan on doing some seriously extensive work on my TS2, from a accu-bushing all the way down the laundry list of what CZC offers. I already find it insanely accurate, and have a hard time believing a 2011 can be EVEN MORE accurate.

I guess I have to just buy one and figure it out...

LOL I came home from the range yesterday. Took my EDC, Atlas Erebus, and an STI Tactical 4.0 that I just put a RDS on. Text my buddy when I got home and told him,”I’m done with the BS! I’m selling my whole collection and moving to all 2011 platform!” Only problem is I only have one more PPT for the year.

Then I see this thread this morning. OP, 2011 is more than worth it. My only advice is don’t buy one that doesn’t have an optic cut. I’m about a year into owning pistol optics, and you’ll never want to go back to irons. IMHO, don’t waste your money on Staccato, go straight to Atlas.

Yes sir! I am slowly converting all of my handguns to red dots. I really CANNOT go back, I almost don't want to shoot any of my iron sight handguns anymore. RDS is a MUST. Also, I have decided that when I get my 2011, it will be an Atlas, or an Infinity Custom. no other way. Totally agree with everything you said.
