HOW good is a 2011... Really?

So here is my dilemma, I am kind of new to gun collecting, as well as shooting as a sport. I own and have been shooting everything from Shotguns, ARs, Bolts, and Handguns for about 4 years now. I consider myself a fairly good shot. I have taken multiple lessons with American Defense Ent., ITTS, as well as Tac-1, and frequent gun ranges at minimum 2-3 times a month... religiously for the past 2-3 years. I can confidently shoot 1 inch groups at 15 yards, maybe further...

    I am really thinking about buying a 2011 (Modern 1911) but I am unsure how it will stack up against some of the handguns I have already collected. My main hold back is that the most I have ever spent on a handgun was roughly $3,000, and I am unsure that spending (+/- $5,000) is really worth it, and if the cost difference will really show in comparison to what I already own. I have obviously never shot a 2011, that is why I want the communities opinion, primarily from those who have shot 2011's as well as some of my guns I will list below;

    Glock 45 (9mm)
    Glock 34 Wilson Combat (9mm)
    Sig P320 X5 Legion (9mm)
    CZ Tactical Sport 2 (9mm)
    CZ Accushadow 2 (9mm)
Springfield 1911 TRP Operator Full Rail (.45)

My CZ's are definitely my favorites thus far... I enjoy my 1911, but I think my only reservation is that I am not a fan of .45 ACP because of the recoil, ammo cost, and bullet drop at 50+ yards. I realize that 2011's are usually 9mm so no worries there.

Is it worth buying one? Will the cost be justified? Or will the guns I already own shoot just as good....

(Also, if I buy a 2011, it will either be a Staccato XL/XC, or an Atlas)

    Let's hear it!

Come here (2A Zone) and I will will let you play with Atlas and staccatos, as well as Nighthawks and whatever else we happen to have. For 2011s, Atlas is second to none... Amazing

Really nice guns. Not worth the price of admission to me, maybe if I was roster exempt but even then more then I will probably spend on a hamdgun.

At least for Atlas guns you can get them at standard msrp, no California surcharge here

Yes get an Atlas. Great guns and I enjoyed mine.

Is it worth it? That’s up to you. Arguably your cz ts2 with some cgw parts will come pretty close and you already own it

I’m personally not impressed with fit and finish of staccato especially not for the non exempt off roster prices they go for in CA

What do you mean by good…? What is the criteria? Better groups? Faster splits? Mitigates recoil? Faster to transition? Bragging rights…? Etc. Etc.

Based on what you get from your criteria - see if it is worth the $$$ to you…

^^you can't go wrong with either. And yes both are expensive, but not because of the roster. They are genuinely THAT good.

I have a Staccato P, steel frame, and yes, believe the hype. Has replaced my Gen 5 G17 as my home defense handgun and is my favorite 9mm pistol by far, IMO better than my Glocks, Sig P226, 228, Walthers, CZ, etc. My wife loves it so much, she wants to get a Staccato C2 of her own to replace her Shield.

But in CA, to pay 2-3X the price, and to be neutered with 10 rd mags, a 2011 would be a wasted purchase, IMO.

I'd pay MSRP (not CA prices) for Staccato and believe it's worth it. Atlas is in a whole different class and well worth the price of admission.

At off roster prices for the Staccato, you are already in Atlas territory.

And since the 9mm 2011 is wasted in CA due to capacity limitations you can go to Infinity and get a 45 or 10mm 2011.
