Get a TLR1 for your pistol and a Blackhawk Omnivore and you're done. It'll even work if you decide to change guns, it's a very versatile setup.

Why do you want think you need/want to shoot Open?

What is the exact configuration of your Staccato?

I ask because Open race holsters are $$ and much more difficult to get used to operating safely.

I also ask because if you have a comp on your gun then many "regular" holsters won't work as they are closed or taper at the muzzle end so you won't be able to seat the gun fully. Same with weights etc.

It's a shame that you can't do a 2011 in Carry Optics but I can see it being a big advantage.

There is nothing in the rest of this thread about what the gun has on it, hence my question about why does he think he needs to play in Open. Limited, L10 and Open are all possible but the setup matters

Lots of folks are for that, lots are against it. Time will tell if division changes will come from the debate

No 2011 are on the Production Gun list and to be in Production or Carry Optics, the gun by make and model must be on the Production Gun list.

Correct magwells are not allowed, but no 2011 is on the "list" so magwell is not the main issue.

People have been shooting Limited/Open with open race holsters for a long while. They are not difficult to operate safely.

Considering the Staccato is approved for duty use and in use right now with some agencies, I'd say I'm for it. But I think the striker fired guys would throw a fit.

More importantly, Production and Carry Optics require a DA, DA/SA, or a striker fire action. The 2011 is none of those.
