Let's use Brea OC Indoor range as an example. They have only one guy (I think Evan) doing ppt's all day long and also managing rest of the gun sales and range. On average he knocks it out in 7-8 minutes tops and both parties are out on their ways. If only every FFL/Store would hire/train a competent employee that specializes in ppt/dros but that's wishful thinking.
If Evan can perform a ppt/dros averaging 7-8 mins each, lets just say 10 minutes. So 6 ppts in one hour x $10 profit each = $60. $60 x 7 hours a day = $420 (1 hour lunch). Say FFL's hourly wage for Evan is a generous $25 an hour. After Evan's wage, FFL is still ahead $200 a day. That's without factor in other business inside the range. Sure there's other costs rent, utilities, insurance, and employee costs. But if you run a lean business and have competent employees who specializes in certain paperwork aspect of the business, you can still be profitable.
However, not every business are the same. Employees, location, owner's willingness, desire and etc. They'll run it the way they think its right. So we are back to square one, some can survive making $10 per, some will not, or claim will not.Comment
