You can throw rocks at the police station from target masters it's so close.

Dirtbags eventually ended up ventalated thanks to SBPD and no employee or customer was hurt or killed.
Fast foreward about a year later, Centerfire Firearms was robbed at gun point. ALL employee carried concealed but were still overwhelmed. It didnt do much good at that moment.
I hope you're not saying that 40 shall issue states is a problem? What are you doing on a gun board? There is no guarantee that because you cooperate with robbers that you will go unharmed, and shootouts are fine (as in who would blame an employee that feared for life in a similar situation) as long as the good guys win. My comment is directed at the notion that "shootouts" should be avoided at all costs; even when lives are at stake.

Police and government have no Constitutional mandate to protect anyone. Anything can happen, and obviously the situation will dictate what happens, but it's much better to have a chance at life then not. Frankly, citizens should not take the advice of anyone; elitist police and government, administrator or beat cop, when victim disarmament is suggested. Yes, it goes without saying that there are good police out there. It's just that we hear more official positions from the head administrators who love to preach victim disarmament.

I think that you'll find it's only police administrators, not the line police officers or first line supervisors, who advocate disarming people. As some promote they forget what LE is really about and become politicians.

About 13 years ago my uncle ran a market in kileen texas, and was robbed at gun point by 2 teenagers. He gave in to all of the guys demands he gave them all the money, everything they asked for. For that he got a .22 bullet right between the eyes....luckily the bullet bounced off his head, and some how ended up in his mouth knocking out several of his teeth and finally ended up getting lodged in his neck....he survived. The two guys who shot him were caught went to jail for couple of years and were released. There is never a guarantee that if you comply with all the demands you will go unhurt.

Come on guys.. we've all watched at least two Steven Segal movies... I damn well know I can take at least 5 armed guys down with my bare hands. I know it. I watched him do it, I know I can to.

I can't wait to try the flying leg kick from 15 yards away! combine that with the gun takeaway!

People underrate good ole fashion running. Hitting a moving target with no training is difficult at best. Zig Zag baby!

Years ago(86'), I was standing around with several friends at a local strip mall. We were in the process of pooling our cash to get some beers. A VW bus pulled up nearly hitting one of my friends. He shouted something at the driver and the next thing I knew I had a scumbag pointing a .44 mag at my head. Despite the fact that I had said nothing, he was going on about do you have a problem? Well, I have a problem solver for you! yadda, yadda. Typical bravado BS.

Needless to say, he couldn't cover all of us at the same time. The moment he changed his aim to someone else, I was off. By the time he realized I had vanished, I was already eight cars away and crawling behind a Cadillac. I wasn't armed, and he wasn't close enough to grab. The loser finally left without firing a shot, and was quickly arrested by El Cajon PD. Turns out he had a large amount of meth in the van in addition to the firearm. Considering how unstable meth heads can be, I think we all got lucky that night.

The first thing out of my friends mouth was, "Dude, I didn't know you could run that fast."

                        My reply, "Neither did I."

Every situation is different, there is no one solution that fits them all. Keep your head on a swivel and be ready to seize any advantage. Any chance is better than no chance. Yes, the muzzle did look to be the size of a howitzer. No, this wasn't the only time someone has pointed a firearm at me. Yes I've been very scared every time. If I had my druthers, I'd prefer it never happen again.
