    PPT limit

I've done 4 FTF private party transactions this year already. I bought 3 guns from private parties and sold 1 to a fellow Calgunner, for a total of 4 transactions.

Now my neighbor is about to sell me his late dad's Ruger Redhawk Hunter for a price I can't pass up, and I'm still looking for another addition to my CCW stable, perhaps even two.

I've never thought about this before, but all of a sudden California's PPT limit entered my mind. The way I understand it, it's 6 transactions or less annually, but do SALES of a gun count as well or is it just PURCHASES?

Only sales - buy all you want.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

No more than 5 sales PPT transactions per year.
Multiple guns can be in one PPT.

          Edit:

Penal Code section 16730 was amended, so that effective January 1, 2020, it says:

          (a) As used in Section 31815 and in Division 6 (commencing with Section 26500) of Title 4, “infrequent” means both of the following are true:
          (1) The person conducts less than six transactions per calendar year.
          (2) The person sells, leases, or transfers no more than 50 total firearms per calendar year.
          (b) As used in this section, “transaction” means a single sale, lease, or transfer of any number of firearms.

I blame the DOJ for that stupid wording.

Why not say maximum of five instead of less than six?

Let’s see them actually bust you for selling 50 guns if you were leaving the state. They just don’t want a bunch of buy to flip sales. I’ll sell whatever I want whenever I want I’m not a business. Hopefully all of them which means I’m leaving Cali.

5 PPT's per year for selling only, no limits on how much you can buy within a year.

Has anyone mentioned that there's no limit on buying guns, just selling, yet?

Don't blame the DOJ for the stupid wording. They're blameless (for that).

The prerogative to choose the words in a statute belongs to the Legislature, not the DOJ.
