PPT seller's ID requirement

Just wanted to be sure nothing has changed for PPT sales as a seller before listing some handguns.
Still okay to use CA DL with "Federal Limits Apply" as seller?

Depends on the FFL. Some require Real ID from sellers too.

Nope. I did 3 PPT's as the seller last year with 3 different FFLs and all 3 of them required a Real ID.

Every FFL interprets things differently. Highly suggest that you call them first. As a buyer if you have Federal limits apply you would need to show either a valid passport or an original certified birth certificate along with that driver's license. No point in wasting your time making an appointment with the other party, going to the ffl, and being sent home. If you already have these items then bring them with you, if you do not have these items contact the ffl you plan on using and ask him specifically what you need to do as a seller if you have Federal limits apply on your driver's license

Not all "original" birth certificates are certified with the county. Back in the day the hospital would issue a certificate that would not have the county seal on them. These have been called keepsake certificates and other names. To be used as proof of citizenship they need the county seal imprinted them.

Technically it's just for the buyer. There are dealers that make it harder to do business with them by adding other things to the mix. Like requiring the seller to provide the same information. The reasoning that I've heard is that if the buyer fails the BC it will be easier to return the firearm to the seller if they already have all of their info.

Me personally I would look for a different dealer to do the transfer at.
