A perfect example of why I asked the original question:
My wife and I were going to a range we had never been to before. I called to ask their masking policy. Over the phone I was told that it was mandatory to wear a mask in the lobby and all common areas but it could be removed once you were in your shooting lane.

We weren't thrilled with the idea but we had singed up for a class back in early December that was being held at this range. So we decided to go and because we had been looking forward to this class for a month we'd suck it up (literally) and put on a mask if an employee demanded it.

When we got there we saw many people going in with masks on. We went in maskless. Nobody said anything or gave us weird looks. We walked all over the place with no mask without any issues.

This is why I asked. Sometimes a business has a stated policy that differs from what they do in actual practice.

BTW, 3 of the other 4 students wore masks, 2 of the instructors didn't and the 3rd instructor only did so outside the classroom.

Masking is only required indoors where we check in and get cash back for returning targets..

I will give you an example that happened
To me, a couple of months ago:
A person came into my store, refused to wear a mask, my employee asked him in front of other customers. He would not answer, or wear a mask. So my employee advised me, and I walked right up to this person, asked them to wear their mask, my tone was very stern because this person already blew off my employee. The person refused my demand and then I told him to get out of my store before he is photographed by other customers. I have had two complaints filed with the county of Marin, who passes these complaints to local code enforcement for the city the my business is located in.

Personally, I don’t care if someone wants to be vaxxed or not. I know of a guy that died from covid and another person that died from the vaccination.
I chose to be vaxxed, and this is my choice. I also resent being the enforcer of the ordinance, and I let my local code enforcement peeps know that it sucks that I have to chase someone out, when a non masker can threaten to shop elsewhere/my competitors. Someone who chooses to not wear a mask in my business, can SIMPlY call my
Store, from my parking lot and be compliant with the senseless ordinance. Again, no non mask wearing individual seems to be willing to pay my fine when I ask them if they would agree to put it in writing.

Though the nasty post about antivaxxers should all die, is not my opinion, far from it. I am also aware that the vax efficacy statistics are not 100%
I also have to be mindful of my employees and …. Not everyone at my work has the same comfort level with unmasked people, one is very politically conservative and wants everyone to wear a mask, when it is required.

          Live and let live

I can’t wait for this sh*t to end, everyone finds fault with any opinion other than their own. I would rather read JA308’s deflecting non sequitur, and the entire spectrum of fallacy argument types, compared to the politicization of covid 19

It's private property. Even though I personally agree that a cloth facemask is worthless and an inconvenience, I will put one on if they ask me to. Don't like their rules then act like a man and politely leave.

Acting like an entitled a-hole on someone else's property doesn't make you brave or some kind of hero. It makes you a jerk.

Are you always such a ray of sunshine or do you just have a particular itch in your crack when it comes to masking?
LOL. Nope. Don't give a tinker's damn about useless masks.

The itch in my crack so to speak is with people that think their rights supercede the rights of a private property owner. Oh and people who try and tell others what and where to speak or post.... or people too lazy to pick up a phone and ask their questions.

My mother always told me to be careful what you ask for.

Just one more piece of parental advice I stupidly ignored.

LOL She is more likely to be killed from climate change caused by harvesting chemicals for her wiper blades, than be protected from a virus that goes through a dust mask, like a mosquito through a chain link fence.

To wear a mask because it's the policy of a private business is one thing, to believe you're actually protecting yourself from the Covid virus is whole other level of stupid.
