    1 in 30 Day Question

Can you purchase a modern handgun from an LGS and also purchase two additional C&R handguns as PPTs from a different FFL seller at the same time?
Requires two separate and independent DROSs during the same time period- one for the modern handgun and one for the two C&Rs.

    I know that's a lot of acronyms.

    Yes.

Also option, if you line them up at the exact same time, meaning have your PPT seller meet you at the LGS where you're buying the modern handgun and have them all dros with one fee. Save you 37.19.

While the odds of you being within Los Angeles City are small, and the possibility that you are doing this at an FFL located within Los Angeles City is even smaller (there aren't many left, like a total of 4 or so) - Los Angeles City restricts ALL handgun purchases to 1-per-30 days regardless of transaction type - i.e., PPT is not exempt.

Probably not your scenario, but worth noting in case you are a masochist anyway and like to cause yourself pain by doing business at Turdner's Reseda - this asinine ordinance just adds to the experience.

(Note: if anyone ever does buy/DROS in LA City for some reason, you won't run afoul of their nonsense if after your pick-up of that gun, you were to buy/DROS another handgun outside of LA City within the 30 days after the LA City pick-up. Just don't do that in reverse.)

I have not bought a handgun from any store within LA City for over 20 because of this.

Thanks. Don't think that's feasible because the two PPTs are consignments from an auction house and they will do that transaction. Seller won't be present.

The other is Turners and it must be done there as well so I'm OK with that. Happy I don't have to put a hold on one or the other.

Are your C&R purchase handguns or semi-automatic rifles?

Keep in mind that semi-auto rifles now count towards the 1-per-30 day purchase limit in ALL of CA, and C&R is not exempt from that bullcrap.

So incoming shipped transfers to your FFL would be subject to the 1-per-30 day if they are an applicable handgun AND/OR semi-auto rifles, even if C&R.

Both are C&R handguns, one a S&W K-22 revolver, the other is a High Standard Sport King semi-auto pistol. These are not transfers, bought through local auction as consignments. Auction house is the FFL.

Modern NIB purchase is Browning Buckmark semi-auto .22. Turners will be the FFL.

              No troubles then.

Just be sure the auction-house has them as consignments from a seller within CA; due to shortages/supply, people holding on to stuff, lots of auction houses are spanning out to get their supply from other states. So while it's still a "consignment" in that respect, the DROS can't be done as a PPT unless it's a fellow CA seller.

I'm noticing more and more C&R being sold by auction houses operating in CA are consigning them from other states. Not that this applies to your situation, but more of a warning to watch out for.

You can get backlogged on 1-per-30 day waits rather quick now days (I did, knowingly, but didn't care), especially now that semi-auto rifles are included in that nonsense, especially for aficionados of C&R guns BECAUSE CA auction houses are bring those in from other states more than ever as they are not deterred by the Roster.

I think I'm good. This auction house pretty much deals with locals only. They like to keep it simple.
