NP3 and NP3+ not offered for retail anymore

Did anyone noticed that you can no longer get your gun and gun parts customized with NP3 or NP3+ coating anymore? The manufacturer has decided to exit the retail market and focus on OEM business with other manufacturers directly.

Just looked it up and sure enough they stopped taking jobs in mid october. Unfortunate. NP3 was always a great option for a refinish. Got two handguns done back in the Robar days.

More and more companies are starting to do this. You can't even buy denatured alcohol in California anymore either so -

Business has to follow the money or be relegated to hoping that the 2/A Ya crowd is going to sustain them. Sometimes good contracts that provide steady revenue streams are better than individual sales. With all the government money being passed out expect more and more businesses to move away from direct sales to some other method of generating income. A contract with some large OEM supplying government or large distributorships is way more profitable than onsies and twosies even if there are a lot of them.

Got a great product or service? Lots of people looking to sell out to avoid the hassles of direct sales. Tip of the iceberg.

I think he discontinued another finish that I wanted to get, a few years ago.

The good news for you is that your 2 handguns are now considered rare and given time, will become more valuable as the gun collector community realize that they can no longer apply custom NP3/NP3+ on their firearms.

There is an alternative, they call it Armorlube, its in black color and not sure how it compares to NP3/NP3+.
