i cringe because i can't help think about the cost.

i mostly do trap though when i practice alone (and i like it back then i'm in and out in 1-1.25 hrs form home) i like going pretty fast. get a quickie practice and done. but with cost, now it's like, jeez... should i slow and milk the experience? sigh

Now that ammo prices have come down from completely insane to merely far too expensive, have you guys found yourselves spending a bit more time at the range?
Personal time to go to the range is in far shorter supply than ammo or money, for me. At my current rate of going to the range, I have at least 3 lifetimes of loaded 9mm and components.

I caught a sale at Natchez, I think, last month for 10 cpr .22lr minimags. So the prices are getting there. Wishing you the best so you can get out and let loose on the range again soon!

Oh same here. Son turned 2. Daughter turned 1. I've only been out shooting once since he was born. Savings in ammo though. Also have a ton of components stored up. It's enough to get them trained when they're older

I never stopped shooting, throughout covid, I kept shooting anywhere from 300-400 rounds a month to over a 1,000 a month.

I reload and have always reloaded, plenty of components on hand although finally getting a little low on some things. Still can shoot.

I don't think I went to the range at all in 2020. Started going again this year and found I had lost a lot of my skill. But I'm back at it and shooting regularly. The recent price drops and availability of ammo has helped a lot.

In 2020, I took up powder coating. That allowed me to make a LOT of bullets. I think I have 5,000 9mm 124 grain projectiles now. This year, I've bought one bolt action rifle and two revolvers.

My LGS gets in different 9mm ammo each week...

number of range trips are still normal but definitely less round count. i have no confident in the new admin so i'm frugal for couple more years.

In spite of a conscious intention to shoot less due to hesitant on going through my stash and/or because of high cost per round, after doing a recent count - I am quite consistent pre-COVID, during COVID and well, semi post-COVID...

(*) 2021 is year to date... I have a couple more matches upcoming (9mm)... And one more tactical class (45ACP).

At least now I am collecting the brass that I shoot.... Just like you, I don't have luxury for reloading, etc. BUT, at least I have materials - primers, brass, powder, etc.

Yeah! A Marlin, but maybe a shorter barreled revolver for me (four inch? Something like that) just to help me relive my love of the westerns as a child.

Having a diversified portfolio also helps, but it's even hard to find caps right now.

I use to bring friends of friends to the range.

Not anymore. I miss the buy in bulk via mail order days.
