The black color one looks like a messenger bag. It is very comfortable to wear. Its size is not too big yet not too small. It also has a CCW compartment.

That thing can decide what it's wants to be. It looks like someone stuck in transition...and I backpack or am I a fanny pack? Which bathroom does it use?

A 12-gauge shotgun with a tactical light would solve all that.

I have a shotgun, but its not my preferred tool for HD.

Its starts with a handgun, then a PCC, and last, a carbine.

The handgun and the PCC have reloads if I grab my purse.

The carbine is matched with a plate carrier with three mags on a placard.

I seriously believe the carbine and the armor will not see real world use. Its seriously just for SHTF. Or if the neighborhood turns into Mogadishu.

Frankly, I have about 8 bucks in that purse. Its main purpose is so I can grab my extra mags without fumbling them.

Including the loaded mag, 45 rounds is plenty. The PCC has 20+20 in the purse.

Not married to the idea of wearing the purse each time I get up to check a bump in the night. Its there to be grabbed as needed. It may as well be a grocery bag.

I do think a light and loaded pistol/rifle/SG is a great idea for checking noises and or dogs barking etc. I've done that even before there were YT video experts. It's just common sense.

I prefer the KISS method. Lots of ammo on board the pistol/rifle, good light attached to the piece and making sure I'm wearing my pants. No nudie points awarded for fighting in my birthday suite.

I'd say a semi auto 12g SG just to add to what BigPimping is saying.

This happens about twice a month.

If I see that someone is already in the house through the security cameras, assess the danger and response, I will call 911, stay in place if no one else is in danger, and keep my HD purse on me in case a fight ensues and I need to reload.

Last year, when rioters were breaking windows and looting stores, I had the rifle and the chest rig bedside. I wore a battle belt for a few days around the house as it was sirens and helos non-stop.

These are just some examples. The purse is to carry extra mags. I sleep in a t-shirt and boxers. There is no carrying extra mags using the elastic band on boxers.

I also live in a "old house" on a big piece of property with "out buildings". Rural dweller.

Something goes bump in the house I reach for my bed side pistol/light and go look.

If something bumps outside I grab my pistol and shotgun and go look. Sometimes I take my hand held spot light to light up the world.

Day time? I always have my carry piece with a rifle that's easy to get to whether I'm in my shop or in the house.

That's my layered response should I need to repel boarders.

Nice. It's really useless to have a gun in the house if its not within reach.

I used to carry a trauma/first aid kit mountain biking. I only used it on myself once, but it saw a lot of use for others I saw injured on the trail. I like being prepared.
