    My bed side HD purse

One of the things I was advised was important for home defense was to have mags and a light ready to take with you should you find yourself in a fight.

I have a rifle with a light, but in most cases when things go bump in the night, I usually go with my handgun (also has a light). For that, I set up this small purse.

Its got a head lamp if ever I need to putz with stuff.

and two standard mags for my pistol, one for my PCC and a knife. The strap lets me put it on and carry it with me with no fuss.

I used to have mags in a drawer, but this makes much more sense. Its quick to put on, and keeps my hands free.

And just in case stuff does go down, I have a full trauma kit with chest seal, clotting gauze and tourniquets in the middle of the house.

    Yeah, I have a purse

I've been considering putting a holster on the purse only because if I needed two hands on something, I'd prefer to keep the gun on me. Might buy a cheapy somewhere.

Sounds like a fanny pack would work as well. Especially if you hear a bump in the night and get out of bed in your birthday suit.

You could always try the "prison wallet."

          It's a CARRY ALL!

Make sure you add a cell phone to that load-out. And keeping a good pair of electronic muffs next to it couldn't hurt.

That's a good cord that the bg can choke you too death with, I guess then he can lay the " purse " on top of you, so that homicide can file it in their case file..

You can just get a chest rig ~ something from hill people.

Anyways, don't go searching for a bg, and if something really goes down - like LA Riots, your gonna need something better and bigger.

I bet most people are not as prepared as you are OP, so thank you for sharing your current bedside set up, maybe it'll inspire others here (like myself). I've got knives, headlamps, flashlights, etc. close by but my medical stuff isn't as nearby.

Like Vinnie Boombatz above, I normally prefer a fanny pack or backpack for carrying items but there is one area that those one strap over the shoulder type carry-all type messenger "purse" bags beat the rest... they are quick to get on your body and quick to take off. And it's also the thing you can do quickly in low-light or maybe even no lighting.

Why not get a nylon gun belt like LE uses. Holster, mag pouch, flashlight holder, knife all together.

Plus you'll look more intimidating with a gun belt on when your naked.

You could get ambushed if you go searching for a bg and get into a mano a mano deal, and everything goes out the window - including using a cord to choke someone out, especially if it's already around their neck.

If you try hard enough you can rationalize and come up with some pretty obscure scenarios and validate it in your head. But I am going to call b.s. here.

A SmartCarry works well too. Clothing optional.

OP was advised by a "trainer" selling satchels? Tactical satchels? YT "expert"?

I do think a light and loaded pistol/rifle/SG is a great idea for checking noises and or dogs barking etc. I've done that even before there were YT video experts. It's just common sense.

I prefer the KISS method. Lots of ammo on board the pistol/rifle, good light attached to the piece and making sure I'm wearing my pants. No nudie points awarded for fighting in my birthday suite.
