    Long Range Optic Recommendations

I’m having a tough time finding a high quality FFP optic in a 30mm form factor that isn’t a Vortex. Ideally 50mm or 56mm width

    Any recommendations?

      What is your budget?

      Chinese glass

      Philippine glass

      Japanese glass

      European glass

      How will you use it?

      Bench only
      Position like PRS
      In the field?
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT
      (thanks to Jeff Cooper)

If you want 56mm lens objective, you will more likely find it in 34mm tube. What is your budget? If you don't want to consider vortex, go watch cyclops Joe's YouTube scope review videos.

Also take a look/call at CameralandNY. Ask for Doug.

As others have asked, we need more info regarding use, budget, etc.

You're going to pay a big premium for the large tube/ large objectives scopes.

My highest is Burriss' highest XTR at $1k but there's Leupold, Nightforce, Zeis, all make $2k+ high quality optics.

But, the other day a couple of good ole boys next to me at the range were shooting tons of rounds at a box sighting in. Then one asks me, what does 1 slash 4 m, o, a mean on top of the scope knobs?

                  I second:
                  Burris xtr III
                  CameraLand. Check Athlons
Europtic. Other quality sites are Sportoptics, Kenzie optics.

Also do some homework at snipershide.

Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.

I think OP has his answer but I'm surprised so many like the Burris. I have noticed that looking through my friends' glass they are clearer, maybe it's the zoom. My XTR goes to 40 and goes darker and greyer. One day I'd like to get a Nightforce and see what all the hubub is all about.

I have two of them. Mine dont do that. Last week i was looking at.600yds 40x. And it was clear.
If you can get your camera.to do a pic. Then send it in to Burris for service.

My standards are just high. I don't have an issue with it but it's a known issue. One day I'd like really clear glass and enjoy what $2 or $3 thousand can buy me.
