DOJ response time on SN# error

OK... i tried to put a 38 pistol on my permit...Sherriff called and said it's not in your name ...

I checked the copy of my 4473.... yep .. dealer messed up on one number ..and I missed it also (an 8 that was a 3)
I got the form to correct it and sent it to the Ca DOJ 2 months ago.. no news yet...so the big question is... can I sell it ? or do I have to wait till I get a approval letter that it's in my name now ??
