If I'm going to do something crazy or rash, I'm going to do it with one of the guns I already own, not run out and buy a new one to do it.

but, but, but... what if you don't own a gun that you think would be appropriate for being crazy or rash? Like, what if you are crazy, but worried about over-penetration from your 5.56mm and think that a 12-gauge with birdshot would be more appropriate for that crime? What if you need to cool down before picking that gun up?

I like to tell the FFL when I go to pick up my ten day wait purchase that "I'm still angry!" Then I ask where I can get a ski mask. Most have a decent sense of humor.

Isn't the CGF planning on moving forward with a case to remove the 10 day wait period as it is completely pointless after the first purchase?

The 10 day wait is a great idea! When someone buys a gun for protection from a violent ex or other criminal the attacker knows he's got a nice 10 day window where the victim will not be armed, making an attack much more safe for him.

10 days for the very first handgun or rifle is justifiable, but 10 days for any succeeding purchase? Come on...... if I intend to do something stupid I could have used the very first purchase I had and not bother to spend more.
