    call me crazy but

does anyone see how flawed the 10 day waiting period is? i dont know if this idea has ever been discussed but it often bothers me that everytime i want to purchase a new handgun or rifle i must waiting another complete 10 days...it seems to me a format like this would work alot better...the first time you purchase a handgun or rifle in the state of california you must under go the full 10 day wait....then everytime you want to purchase a gun after that they only do a quick instant background check that show you still have the same approval as the first time you purchased...why run a full check everytime? seems pointless to me...and honestly we all know that people who buys guns honestly from a shop most likely arent the ones using them to commit crimes...it seems wrong that we the people who follow and play by the rules are the ones who keep getting more and more laws tacked on making it harder and more tiresome...sorry for the lil rant

That would be a brilliant improvement that I've never heard mentioned before. Dang, now I'm kinda pissed that's not already the case because...well you said it so I'll leave it at that. Thanks for the eye opener though.

I'm not even going to discuss this, because we've covered this soooo many times.

Yes, the waiting period is bogus.

You're missing the whole point of the 10 day wait.

While your suggestion to fix the system is a good middle ground, I question any wait at all.

it's bogus. but you never know that "cooling off" period might have actually helped some really "pissed off" law abiding citizens.

I always complain about this to my wife and buddies when I buy a firearm. I already own several guns....why do I have to wait 10 days before I can pick up a new one? If I'm going to do something crazy or rash, I'm going to do it with one of the guns I already own, not run out and buy a new one to do it.

Isn't the CGF planning on moving forward with a case to remove the 10 day wait period as it is completely pointless after the first purchase?
