Apologies if this has been covered recently. If someone permanently moved out of the US and leaves their firearms with a fried for safekeeping, is there a way to transfer the firearms to the friend? Would the original owner need to be present for the PPT at an FFL? I assume they would, just seeing if there are other legal options in California. All transferred firearms would be long guns in a CA legal configuration. Thanks in advance!

Verify what the FFL will charge.
Not a PPT if the original owner has cut all ties to being a CA resident.
If he still has CA ties (DL, taxes, property, etc.) and will come to visit sometime, might be easier to do in person PPT.Originally posted by Kestryll:
