    Out of Country Transfer Question

Apologies if this has been covered recently. If someone permanently moved out of the US and leaves their firearms with a fried for safekeeping, is there a way to transfer the firearms to the friend? Would the original owner need to be present for the PPT at an FFL? I assume they would, just seeing if there are other legal options in California. All transferred firearms would be long guns in a CA legal configuration. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the reply. Basically the friend gets a bill of sale from the original owner and takes it to an FFL for DROS and waiting period?

Find ffl that will let buyer deliver firearms.

Verify what the FFL will charge.
Not a PPT if the original owner has cut all ties to being a CA resident.

If he still has CA ties (DL, taxes, property, etc.) and will come to visit sometime, might be easier to do in person PPT.

You may want to pose this question in the FFL section. They will have the answer over there.
