You serious, the only thing thermal detects is the IR signature that EVERYTHING projects so face palm yourself. Also the law from what I've read does not specify an active illuminator or not, it just says from a projected source which is literally everything to a thermal imager.

First off I think we can both agree this law is dumb and poorly written and can be left up to semantics. It's left to whether a prosecutor can convince a jury that matter emits or projects IR in a case. I'm pretty sure that there are teams of lawyers that agree with me being that most if not all companies will not sell/ship to here due to this law. Like I said I haven't been able to find one.

Um, I haven't been able to find a company that won't ship a thermal imaging scope to CA. Optics Planet does.

Don't forget the selective enforcement mechanism. Or like Dirty Harry says:

The video will explain everything to both Californians and non Californians. It will shed light on the overwhelming evidence of this state banning freedom. CA gun laws are one of, if not the biggest threat to freedom this country has ever seen. Barring this last election. My brother was held at gunpoint by a thug. He was unharmed. I doubt that criminal studies new gun laws to make sure he’s compliant. And thats the major hook here, to explain to the public that these gun laws do not effect criminals, because criminals break laws. Of course thats what the 2A is all about, but I’m trying to sell this to the average person. Trying to get more votes for the 2A. Any further suggestions are welcome. Again, thanks all.

You thought incorrectly. Please see PC 30515. Only semiauto pistols without fixed magazines become AWs with a threaded barrel. All other handguns are OK with threaded barrels.

As used in this section, sniperscope means any attachment, device or similar contrivance designed for or adaptable to use on a firearm which, through the use of a projected infrared light source and electronic telescope, enables the operator thereof to visually determine and locate the presence of objects during the nighttime.
I’d love for you to show a link to a thermal scope that includes a projected infrared light source where that light source is “any attachment, device or similar contrivance designed for or adaptable to use on a firearm“ as required by the law. Thermal scopes don’t have that part since they don’t work that way. They passively detect the IR in the environment around them.

As has been posted many times here by user “Quiet”
                    Summary...
Active IR scope with magnification = illegal
Active IR scope with no magnification = legal
Passive IR scope with magnification = legal
Passive IR scope with magnification and an IR illuminator = illegal
Passive IR scope with no magnifcation = legal
Passive IR scope with no magnification and an IR illuminator = legal
Active IR goggles with magnification = legal
Active IR goggles with no magnification = legal
Passive IR goggles with magnification = legal
Passive IR goggles with magnification and an IR illuminator = legal
Passive IR googles with no magnification = legal
Passive IR goggles with no magnification and an IR illuminator = legal
A thermal scope is a passive type IR scope given that it does not have an active illuminator.

It's scary that you make that sound normal.

i applaud you for this project and glad that your brother is okay.

are going to make two parts or more video like:
part 1 - simple and easy to understand (general content)?
part 2 - more complex and in-depth moronic gun laws in kali?

Mention that it's okay if, ''We own a gun." But that other guy over there...He looks a little shady.

An important thing to note is that CA gun laws are not about 'guns', they are virtue signaling to get some politician elected or re-elected.

That being so, there's no point in arguing that the laws do not do anything useful about guns - that would be true, but not relevant. They work great for the politicians, and that's always the primary consideration.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!
