The biggest things to watch for are one-off situations, where you're working outside the "norm" of what the laws address; and keeping the content current with changes in the law (or changes in how the laws are enforced.)

I’d also suggest adding the laws regarding firearms deemed “Destructive Devices” (such as the .45/.410 revolvers and military surplus rifles with a rifle grenade launcher muzzle device like the Yugo 59/66 SKS).

Yeah there may be technicalities, but I've yet to find a company that will sell/ship to California. And being stopped with one will likely land you in a similar situation as stan-cap mags would, guilty until proven innocent.
Also thermal would be affected by this law since they solely operate off of projected lR and are a telescope that can distinguish objects at night

Thermal does not at all operate that way. The detector is a passive device.

How did you come by this knowledge that thermal devices operate on projected IR? What are you basing that statement on?
