    Question about CFARS/CRIS forms

I purchased my ar-15 through a California dealer in 2014. I haven't used it much in recent years but wanted to make sure everything is good to go. The rifle is currently in a featureless configuration.

In order to purchase ammo I read I needed to update my info in CFARS.

Well I filled out the Firearm ownership report in CRIS and realized that was not what I needed to do.

I filled out the correct form (AFS Info update) which was approved. But now the CRIS form came back incomplete and is requesting photos of the rifle. Do I need to follow through on this if the rifle is already registered in California from when I purchased it?

If you bought it in 2014, it should already be registered to you in cfars.
There should be no need to register it again.
Just cancel the registration application or let it go past their deadline for your response and they will eventually cancel it as being left incomplete.

You only need to update CFARS if you moved since you bought it. Have you moved?

If you have, you just need to update your address. No need to file a firearms owner report for a firearm you bought from a CA dealer.

      Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.
