Sight pusher
I have a bias and enjoy tools. So yes - a solid sight pusher is a good thing.
If you take classes and or do one handed drills, you sometimes move your rear sight. Sometimes you need to make fine adjustments and shoot a group - unload- move sight - reload - shoot another group is the right way to go.
Now that I have the tool, I have helped a few friends with sights.
Remember that one can destroy a Trijicon vial with the wrong sight installed / technique.Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED
Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)
Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET
Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT

Please post up 5 websites with service prices from gunsmiths that charge $10 to change a set of sights.
Since that's what you declare it should not cost more than, certainly there will be dozens of gunsmiths doing at that price seeing as how the market adjusts to what people are willing to pay and what people are willing to do the work for...
I'll kick it off:
Browse our selection of tritium night sights, sight installation tools, ghost rings, AR BUIS, shotgun beads, and optic mounts all made in the USA to fit your favorite firearm brands.

Who said I was paying $50? Where did I say anything about using a "big box" store to install sights? Where did I mention having to wait in long lines to have any firearms worked on? I've never had any "big box" store work on a firearm. You made a LOT of (albeit false) assumptions in your reply.I’m speaking from personal experience. Jones Fort in Redding, CA $10 Bastiani Arms in Redding, CA $10. So I think the real question is, where are you living that you’re paying $50 for sight install?
The key is to get to know your local gunsmiths. Have them know you. $1 a minute is also not a waste of their time. I’m sure if you’re waiting in line for BIG BOX FFL ABC for an install change, you could be paying more money. But I try to get to know the owners of all the FFL’s around. I spend a lot of money with my local stores. In fact on most occasions they have done simple work for me for free. All because I have given them a reason to.
EDIT: I called Bastiani Ams and they told me $25 per handgun to swap the sights. I consider that a great price, but again quite a stretch from your claim that "it shouldn't cost anymore than $10." Having a buddy in the business or having a relationship with a shop is a completely different situation, but again that is much different that your claim that it should never cost more than $10.Last edited by Vinnie Boombatz; 08-12-2021, 11:08 AM.sigpicComment
