    9mm at 40cpr

At 42cpr online average for brass and 36cpr for steel, there are plenty of LGS still selling at an average of 70cpr, or 65cpr when buying 1000. Marketplace at 60cpr.

When will these sellers realize that the price is going down?
Yeah yeah capitalist, basic economics. Blah blah blah. Keep all BS aside...
    Any objective opnions?

Because people are stupid enough to buy at the higher prices.
    Still panic buying.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.

Typically when a local shop buys 10k rounds at a certain price, they will sell it at a set price. Now if they are continuing to take in new shipments and keep their prices high, while distributors prices drop, thats a different story.

LGS s also know they are a monopoly. Very few will take online orders for you. I tried looking around online, most lower cost online shops won't ship to CA and their inventory is not massive.

It's hard to believe LGS are still buying at inflated prices when online prices are almost half the price. I can understand big box stores having more leverage, example, Sportsman's at 40cpr in Corona/Murrieta, where Ammo bros and Warrior one in Riverside at 70cpr. Same brand. However, online prices are very competitive with sportsman's, whereas LGS still trying to make the year's sales from one box of ammo.

This is not a rant, anybody is free to buy wherever they want.

Seems like a lot of ppl get a box of ammo and never shoot, or shoot a neglige amount so I guess they think it’s easier to pay $0.70cpr than reload, or get ffl03+coe

Not being a literal Zombie Apocalypse, folks shouldn't have hoarded up ammo with the assumption it was going to be an investment.

Those that will have done the best will be those that had a stash before the panic, sold during the panic, and will replace it long after the panic.

Is it really worth all the hassle flipping ammo and components to net $20 at a time.

Quite frankly I have a FFL03 + COE and am starting to reload, but I have never thought about using expensive ammunition to shoot negligees

I'm slowly working through 9mm and starting to need a few more calibers. Keeping an eye on pricing, not expecting pricing to get back down to the prices pre COVID. I have some price limits in mind where I will start buying i.e. 35cpr for high quality ball 9mm like Federal AE 124gr. Hoping for 25cpr, but may need ammo before it gets there.

I gave up on looking locally for ammo at fair prices, and have ordered online for a while now. Buy at least 1000rds to make the effort worth it. For expensive ammo like HST I will drop to 500rds per purchase.

I'm on the same boat. I will keep monitoring the market but most likely I will have to start ordering online by the end of the year.

I’ve been buying ammo online only. Prices are dropping but a lot of vendors outright refuse California sales.

Then you have to find a FFL willing to do the transfer. Most of them charge more than $11, but I’m happy to support local businesses.

Then there’s tax and shipping. Ammo’s still not cheap.

I'm going to start copying and pasting the same thing on all these ammo threads.

                            ammoseek.com

                            FFL 03 & COE.

I bought 2 cases of Blazer 115gr 9mm @ $0.38/rd last week and it came straight to my house in L.A. (yes, city of L.A.).

It's probably down to $0.36/round now.
