I agree. I was a member from the day it opened until I left CA. Best place to shoot in the L.A. area. I tried Angeles and Burro as well as the place that was accessed through the gravel operation (can't remember it's name since it closed) and stuck with APTS. Great guys there.Comment

It's a business. If that's what they can get, more power to them.
I had membership for many years since they were open at night. I was there every Thursday night with my kids shooting at the rifle range. Thursday nights were fun since it was just us and a few other shooters (it's fun shooting and rocking to 70s music at night).
Haven't been shooting since the cost of ammo went through the roof. I'd probably just go to "A place to shoot" and not pay Oak Tree prices.Comment

with the population base in the area, the limited number of venues, hourly rate seems to be the way to go.
my "home" range 5 dogs charges 10 per day, but they are huge as far as the number of specific types of ranges available, plus the home ranges there for club use onlyTURNING and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

That seems excessive, but I guess everything is relative to your location. I live in Fresno and have a membership to A Visalia gun range and I pay $120 a year for family of 4. The only extra a pay for is for paper targets.

If enough people stop going, Oak Tree will either lower prices or sell off this desirable property to developers. Its unlikely any range can make up revenue with a larger volume.
In fact its probably going the other direction as media, schools and democrats work to make gun ownership a rarity and shooting even more so.
I think the prices are too high, but I am not the one paying the bills either.Comment

Ahh the fine print method, that's a way to piss off some customers.Comment

It's actually much further and the drive after the exit isn't close either. The private road leading to the range is another 2 miles or so,b doesn't really compare. Having said that I prefer that location, if you have a small car it may be very bumpy.WTB 3rd Gen SW also looking for a 22 pistol with 6" bbl or longerComment

Betsy got greedy even before the plandemic. Now she has the other place to pillage as well.If enough people stop going, Oak Tree will either lower prices or sell off this desirable property to developers. Its unlikely any range can make up revenue with a larger volume.

Well lets be honest, do people here really expect the price to stay the same for 20 years? Eventually they gotta go up like everything else.sigpic"I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted, and I won't be laid a hand on. I don't do these things to other people and I require the same from them."

I really do not consider staying in business or making a profit greed. Oak Tree is a high end range and has nice facilities.
That said their prices should be posted so no one is surprised when paying the bill.Comment
