Yes, it is rude to not have at least temporary signage alerting paying comers to the new fee structure.
In the end however, it will be the number of paying customers (or lack thereof) that will either support that fee structure or not. The matter of range equipment that is not operable may force customers to look for another venue.
I suspect that the owners are banking on the increase in number of folks new to firearms in general, and taking advantage of that market before it goes away. There may be an increase in operating expenses, but is it enough to justify such an increase in user fees?

Is Oaktree the same FFL that was selling the Armatix Smartgun, which screwed us via microstamping and the roster? If so that's reason enough to not patronize them.

Was an oaktree member until a couple of years ago! Besides the prices there equip is junk half the s**t never works on the skeet and sporting clay fields.

Oak Tree Gun Club has become nothing short of a complete joke. I don't go there anymore except for maybe doing a PPT. Their new hourly range fee rule was the final straw for me.

I'd be pissed if I was a member. The cost of a membership has practically doubled within several years and they have random closures all the time. Plus, different parts of the range are only open during different days of the week. Not to mention random early closures here and there plus their "transition fee" they now charge if you start at the pistol range then want to go to the rifle range, or vice versa. It's actually comical how greedy Oak Tree has become.

Yeah there was a long thread about this a few months back. Crappy policy they got in place. All the ranges that have you pay by the hour lost my biz

It’s why I haven’t gone to public or private ranges in about two decades. I go to wide open spaces. Free, silence and solitude (except for me and mine).

You've got to write Really small on your driver's license..

"By viewing this license I agree not to charge this person."


That way when they tell you to read the fine print that was not made obvious to you before you used their services, you can just say "You agreed to my fine print before you mentioned your fine print." Then pull out your license.

... case closed.



It also works for law enforcement, so they can't charge you either.

Angeles, during the week, is pretty open. Can't speak about the weekends but no time limit and flat rate. Ammo on the shelves too if you need it.
