When I can afford to buy one, i might get one...... but for the time being
Do you think a semi auto shotgun like my 1301 be a decent substitute for a semi rifle?
I don't think it's a substitute, but I'm not in your shoes. I've been in the hobby for a long time now and have seen the trends, especially in CA. It might not be available in the future. Keep that in mind but don't over leverage yourself. You can still putt with a nine iron, if you get what I'm saying.

Thanks!, i was just being paranoid. I am currently using a stormlake 40sw barrel. It is 100% reliable so far.

Yes sir. Thats the main reason i got the shotgun. I can still shoot slugs for distance shooting. Pls Dont get mad at me i might be a fudd, lol. I fear that one day semi auto center fire rifles be banned so i dont want to get attached to it to begin with.

Everyone should have an AR, especially since Mr. Potato Head says nobody needs an AR.

you got everything you need in you current situation. but if you have the itch for an ar, get one and enjoy the challenge of hitting the target at 100,200,300 yards where it's available.

i remember when being noob and all i have were handguns. then came the curiousity of owning an ar, asked lots of questions here and i was encouraged to build my own. after the first built, came second, third ... but if you're not inclined to build one, just get a factory made and enjoy it.

OP, you’re not out-gunned but you are out-ranged. Get another A2.

^^^^ Since the AR platform is the basis for our country's basic military rifle I have to agree. Everyone should have one and I suspect the Founding Fathers would agree with my sentiment as well!

Every law abiding American citizen of sound mind, should own an AR15. The AR15 is as American as apple pie.

The more people that own AR15s the harder it will be to ban them.

I think every US Citizen should be gifted a functional AR 15 at age 18.

Fewer people are killed with all rifles each year (323 in 2011) than with shotguns (356), hammers and clubs (496), and hands and feet (728).

No, they should be issued one by the Government after completing basic training following graduation from high school and before college or trade school. Completing that basic training qualifies everyone for a voucher towards tuition at college or trade school of their choice.
