Now my mind is filled with rubber tires, and forest fires
    And whether I'm a liar,
And lots of other situations where I don't know what to do,
At which time God screams to me "There's nothing left for me to tell you."

It's a mixed bag. Second Amendment-wise, what they let us have will be available for a price. Rights in general are headed the wrong direction (no clue how that ends). The economy and standard of living will likely end up in the toilet for a decade or so. The chance of a major conflict will escalate.

My guess is ammo prices go even higher.

A few of my LGS have full walls and counters. Event the small Ffl has inventory. Plus I keep getting emails about ammo deals from global and some other shops with a discount code. Still priced too high IMO and prolly not moving like it did before so now it’s just sitting

I've been looking for primers, powder, certain bulk bullets for reloading and even percussion caps for my muzzle loaders, all to no avail since last summer. I don't see the reloading supplies improving.

If by “normal” you mean a 6+ month backlog on nearly everything firearms related, the yes, we are “normal”.

              Also: $1.00+/round target 9mm
              ☹️

I wait for another year (until 2022).

Calm down a bit? Sort of. For now, the bull rush seems to be losing steam.

Inventory coming back? Sort of. But, a lot of that depends on where you're standing; both in term of region and the specific store. Additionally, the question is still outstanding as to whether it's 'coming back' or if this is just one of those points where the manufacturers have been able to release some newly produced product.

The bottom line is that I don't see anymore ammunition than I have over the last few months. I do see a very few 'more' firearms than have been present. However, many of the prices for some of the firearms and virtually all of the ammunition I do see are still horrendous or stupefying or .

The more acute question isn't whether it's calming down or coming back, but when it will 'bottom out' in terms of pricing and 'level out' in terms of availability. I don't think we're going to see either for awhile yet.

I'm seeing more and more online retailers with ammo in stock (popular calibers too), and it seems to be lasting longer. Probably, as some posters have noted, due to the price. Unless there's yet another round of stimmies going out, I suspect the buying frenzy will slowly keep abating.
