    Some help

So I'm getting independently contracted to drive around dancers. I have a guard card and firearm permit.

    Question is, would you carry?
Asked the company, and they just said is not a good idea since the client might have one too...

thing that worries me, is that I'll have the money that they make with me in between clients. Should I just by and lockable case and tether it to a back seat?
Guess I can use pepper spray.

Just some thought would me nice. Please don't burn me for this if what I am asking is obsurd

So, because the client might have a gun, you shouldn't? That seems bass ackwards, if you ask me. That's exactly why you SHOULD be carrying, IMO.

If I were in your shoes, and they told me I shouldn't carry, but don't say I can't carry, I would carry.

If they told me I can't carry, I would tell them I wouldn't carry.

    But that's just me...

BTW - By "client," you mean the person who has ordered the dancer, and not the dancer, correct?
    This is my sig line.

I agree with everyone above. It seems like it would be wise to carry if permitted too.

Carry the tools you deem necessary to keep you and your protect-ees safe. If the situation arises and pepper spray is all thats needed, then have pepper spray, but if it escalates into something more......be ready.

If you're an IC, do you have insurance to cover any legal issues that come up if you ever have to use it? And if you're an IC, I would carry if I were you. But I'd have spray or a taser as well.

Thank you guys. Ya that's what I've been saying to myself " pepperspray vs gun?" LOL. That's another issue , insurance.

Yes, client, guy who pays/orders dancer. So my one worries would be what the company would say if dancer told them I carry. We report everytime we leave of move.

What would be a logicl way of going about this? Just carry?

I'll get some pics later. Manager told me other drivers just carry pps.

Just can't decide. Don't want to get fires first day just cuz of carry

The perks sound good but how is the pay on such a job, if you don't mind me asking?

Your post and questions are strange. Is this your first time doing this? What is your training?

There is no reason you should tell the dancer(s) anything. They may get a bit cocky with a client and get you in deeper than you would otherwise...

Not too bad. Get 10-25% from company then get 30-50% of dancers tips.
Just don't know too much about company, has a bit uneasy. Don't know if I should post name

Yes, this would be my first for dancer bodyguard. Just have the standard training for bsis. And some shootin.

I wouldn't say anything, but if dancer saw holster...

Sorry if I'm sounding totally noob, just I want to feel at ease about a decision for carrying.

Ok, if your company has said "Don't carry", I would stick with that. You are their employee, in their car, on their insurance and dime. If they were ambiguous, and left you some wiggle room, and you are allowed to carry, then go ahead. I would keep it as discreet as possible though. Not showing the "dancers" would be a big start in the right direction. No matter how much you want to show off for them. I would also know all of the laws regarding carrying and possibly using a firearm by heart. As for other options, pepper spray might be a bad idea in an enclosed car. The last driver I knew carried a big Maglight and an 12" length of 1" thick copper cable, wrapped in duct tape under the front seat. I would personally stick with the Maglight, as it is "just a flashlight, after all officer..." Much easier to explain at traffic stops. I would also recommend a voice recorder, that is on the whole time you are in the car, just to CYA.
