    Spent brass casing

    1. Treat all guns as if loaded (even when you know they aren't).
    2. Never point the muzzle at anything you aren't willing to destroy.
    3. Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on target.
    4. Know your target and what is beyond it (avoid all collateral damage).

Do a web search for metal recyclers. Call and ask if they accept fired cases.

Specific calibers, or just all brass casings?

It’s worth ( a lot) more selling it as reloading brass than it is as scrap metal.

Absolutely. Especially right now, and even more so if there are brass for unique cartridges in the pile.

If some level of government had that information, what would they do with it? How would having that info benefit public safety? How would it benefit law enforcement?

Put some gloves on maybe a podcast or some good music and separate those bad boys by caliber. Very well worth the return as mentioned by others here to separate by caliber

Here on CalGuns. He will get the most for it if he takes the time to separate it by calibres.
                  Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.
