I don’t think it’s worth $2000. Gold plating actually uses very little gold.
Right now prices are high for used cars and trucks. Sell your 4 runner, you should get more than $2000.

It would be 75% gold and 25 copper. Looks nice on your wrist but not in a gun unless it is an ak.

I was recently offered a rose gold plated Glock 19 (it was said to be plated in 24k gold) in a trade for my 1997 Toyota 4runner 2WD 4 cylinder with 191,000 miles. Now I do not need this vehicle because I have a brand new car and do not need a rose gold plated Glock, nor is this something I would normally be interested in. A little too flashy for me.

My question is how much do you think a rose gold plated Glock is worth, he had it perviously on consignment for $4,000 prior to covid and when covid kicked in he pulled it from the shelf. This sounds slightly high to be without knowing anything about gold plated guns.

I have been offered $2,000 cash for the car and think I could get around that currently, I just wonder if in the long run the gun would be worth more than the car?
4Runners are in demand vehicles if in good condition. Sell the car, pass on the gansta Glock (who does that crap anyway??? )

I believe the seller tried to sell it in the calguns marketplace for several years, prices ranged from $3200-3800. Seller kept withdrawing it and reposting it, due to forum members ridculing the outlandish price for it.
^It (NIB Glock 19 Gen 3 Rose Gold) was last posted for $3800 in Oct 2020.

Your Toyota is worth much, much more.

G19s are $500 guns. The gold in gold plating is probably sub $100 worth.

Do a quick check with plating places to see how much it costs to gold plate a G19 slide.

            Besides, a gold plated glock?!!

              What he said.

              Pre-2020...
... the cost to get a Glock slide 24k gold plated was around $500.
... the cost to get a Glock slide TiN coated (so it looked like it was gold plated, but is more durable than actual gold plating) could be done for around $100.

Thank you everyone for the quick replies, It definitely sounds like I am better off passing on this trade. This confirms my initial thoughts, but again thank you to everyone who replied as I did not know where else to ask.

There’s a big market for 4Runners right now. Post it for $3-5K depending on condition. It’ll sell.

I rub diamonds on my Glocks to increase their value. Might be selling one soon for $6K. Will consider trades for trucks.

                        Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.
