    Century Arms AP5 (mp5 clone)?

Are these things any good? I figure all the HK fanbois here would know. The local feed store has one for 2999. It looks good, but I wouldn't know what to look for.

I probably shouldn't even have looked at it, I already have an MPX. Looks like it would make a fun sbr.

Century imported pistols are good because they dont need to change anything. 3 grand is a lot so i could suggest getting the nfa mp5 mag ar receiver and build from there.

They are good guns, made with H&K tooling but it is hard to swallow that price when just a few months ago, the previous importer (Zenith) sold them for more than $1000 cheaper. I have a k version shown here:

D54-N from Dakota Tactical or an RL9 from Revolutionary Roller Locks.

Century is the new importer for the MKE Turkish made clones previously imported by Zenith.
I believe MKE uses HK tooling under license and I've not heard anything bad about them but three grand seems a bit high. At that price you might actually be able to get an HK SP5 (outside CA, of course).

Those are the prices on their websites. Who knows how much they are now, or the 8-10 months later when they're actually delivered. The msrp for the Century was $2800 a few months ago.

Bah, I only looked at it because the fanbois here gush over them. My buddy's MP5SD conversion wasn't even that much fun to shoot. I like his MAC better tbh. Three grand for that Century? Hell, a new full auto MAC is only about 8 grand.

So they cost more than the MSRP of an SP5 which is 2.5k? WILD

Who knows? This one is in the store and for sale for 2999.

                I can't find an SP5 for under 4 grand.

How long ago? In the past is meaningless when there are none right now.

                      What he said.

MKEK was licensed and set up by H&K to make HK firearms (G3 series, HK33 series, MP5 series) for the Turkish Gov/Mil/LE during the 1960s.

I have one available for $2700. I can ship for $25.

Fit and finish is typical good Zenith. Gun says MKE on top and side.

Yes they are more expensive than previous zeniths. But imports will be the first to be banned since it is easy through EO.

I would not worry about repairs. It is not built by cantury or a fly by night century contractor. Any mp5 smith or even the owner can work on these but i never heard of any issues with them. the only thing i dont like is the receiver needs a small cut to fit packs. my ptr is plug and play but lower quality and i hate the rail.

Which means a trigger pack cannot be dropped in by an ordinary person, right? Not like I have 30 grand burning a hole in my pocket anyway.

Look at Atlantic, here's a link to the Century pistol for about 400 less (than your local shop, not 400 less than Phil's).

                              Also: its showing in stock.
