"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C.S. Lewis

No ppts . Never heard of anyone getting someone to follow to ffl to sell. Always some clueless person thinks this is possible. FFL license is site specific only otheroption is at gun show.

What if the FFL identifies the buy back as a gun show?

              (2) A licensed importer, manufacturer, or dealer may engage in the business of dealing in curio or relic firearms with another licensee at any location

Take a look at the gun - see if it's C&R if so ask if they have a license - No license advise them to meet you at the FFL and offer real cash in excess of what the gift card is.
Have something printed up with your cell number on it and pass it out along the line - they call and tell you what they have and you make an offer. Park along the route of the line and stick a sign on your car.

Firearms that are turned in will be assigned a value by the LAPD, depending on its condition. Handguns can be exchanged for gift cards of up to $100, and an assault weapon can be turned in for a gift card of up to $200.
Wait in line so they can tell you $5.00....pass

A guy and his son set up near gun buybacks, it was in the Bay Area. He got on their radar, think it was in Emeryville, around 1994+/-. They stopped him for interfering, it was covered by the media big time.

It's more a gun show than a "buy back".

How can they buy back what they never owned in the first place?

I honestly to hunt these out so I can unload my half broken 1970's era department store crap.

I've either broken even with the transaction without the hassle of selling a very cheap crap gun to some shady cheap dude coordinating through an FFL, or have made a few bucks profit relative to "worth" of said crap.

                      ********
Last time I pinned a 1x4 as a stock and one of the officers looked at me funny, and the other one said, well the "action works" so it counts (I merely did the 1x4 to make sure it made length).

I stood outside of this place maybe 6-8 years ago. Big signs. No luck. No harassment either.
                        It was a fruitless day.

I avoid gatherings of stupid people, so I've never been anywhere near one of these imbecile conventions.
