Ordered a package of three. Came the next day. Didn't smell like good ole#9. Went to the reloading bench and poured some on the one I broke open. Next morning hung it up in the pickup. All is good.

Hoppe's No.9......the smell of freedom

So I spilled about 7 oz of hoppes #9 on my wood floor on Saturday and for the life of me I cannot get the smell out. I cleaned it with Nature's Miracle, Dawn, vinegar, soap, almost everything but the smell is still localized in about a 12x12 in section of the floor. The smell is so bad it's nauseating to be in the room for a while. I even left bowls of vinegar on the floor which help, but the smell returns after tossing it.

Does anybody know how to get the smell out?

Replace the wood.

Luckily steam cleaning and hydrogen peroxide removed the smell. Thank you all for the advice. And the floors are going to be replaced sometime soon anyways.
