    Is there anyone

I'm not sure if this is a taboo topic or not, but i was wondering if there are people on here that are willing to buy off roster guns for people for a fee rather than flipping them on calguns in the private sales forum like most people seem to be doing. And i'm talking like paying someone 100-200 for the effort. Obviously it would have to be someone you build trust with and are able to meet FTF at an FFL. I'm only asking because the prices that people are asking for the off roster guns just absolutely amazes me, like people charging 1k for a cheap $250 gun...

If this isn't a proper topic please let me know and i'll remove. But if not i'd like to hear people's thoughts on this.

Completely illegal, cops have been sent to prison for it and buyers have been criminally charged too.

You are in California. Until our government changes you are going to pay top dollar for off roster guns, or you are going to buy on roster guns. Get used to it.

    Any more questions?

So you are asking someone to do something for $100 that they normally make $1000+ doing?

Perhaps you should start selling $100 bills for $10.
I'll be right over to buy 100 of them from you.

Has to be the funniest question in a while. Glad I’m not the only one asking stupid questions.

              Not going to happen.

Illegal and the payoff isn’t worth it.

Either be fast on deals that pop up here or there or pay-to-play.

              Don’t vote D either.

Just curious, what gun is worth $250 and is going for $1000? The LCP II?

If you're asking if there are people/businesses doing this, yes absolutely, especially around the LA area. Will they sell to you? No chance in hell. And the fee is way more than $100.

It exists already; it's called FFL's doing guns on consignment. Plenty of stores have counterspace for off-roster guns on consignment, essentially handled in the same way as a PPT, and they charge the seller a fee to provide the service.

If some level of government had that information, what would they do with it? How would having that info benefit public safety? How would it benefit law enforcement?

                      This right here.

A couple years back I walked into my LGS and in his consignment case was an off roster gun I really wanted and never expected to see BNIB in CA, and to my surprise it didn't have an inflated price attached, it was listed at MSRP.

I learned my lesson a few years earlier about hesitating to commit on a rarity, only to see someone else buy it right in front of me. I pulled all cash I had on me and asked to put it on layaway to reserve it for me, fortunately I had enough to cover the 20% needed.

Never overlook a consignment case, you'd be surprised what you can find.

                        Slow day at the DOJ?

Easy. Move to a free state and establish residency. Buy all the tasty treats.

                          Move back.

                          Repeat as needed.

Or, your free state parents or kids acquire all the tasty treats then move to CA. Gift you said treats via OPLAW. Cool guns for free!

                          Still legal, right?

Pretty sure everything the OP mentioned is a straw purchase or worse.

Not quite so easy. Not only do you need to establish residency in the other state you also need to completely cut ties with the state of CA. If CA can consider you a resident of CA then you would need to deliver those guns to a CA FFL for transfer back to you. The roster would apply and the FFL could not deliver any handgun not on the roster unless you're exempt. Of course, if you're exempt you wouldn't have need to go through all of this n the first place.

If your OOS grandparent/parent/child wishes to give or sell you their off roster handgun after they decided that they didn't want it anymore they could. Though you could NOT use the OPLAW form. It would be an interstate transfer and since 1968 ALL transfers of firearms between residents of different states MUST be done through an FFL in home state of the new owner.

Interstate off roster transfers between grandparent/parent/child are legal and are exempt from the 1-30 rule.
                            Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

You missed the "move to CA" part.
