Where to sell a modest sized collection?

I have a fair number of higher tier 1911's and CZ's (approximately 30 in all). I am contemplating selling the bulk of the collection (keeping a few I like to shoot). Can I get any recommendations on reasonable options for sale of the collection? Selling 1 or 2 at time time on the forum here seems like a lot of effort and might get into transactions-per-year limit issues.

          THIS.
If you don't want to do it yourself, the best option would be to consign through them, as they sell on gunbroker to other CA folks AND the whole country.

Well, if you're not in a hurry you could list them and sell them in groups. I've seen people do that to keep in the transaction limit. Though because you'd be selling in groups you would be limiting your potential market base. If you let them pick say 2-3 guns of their choice you might open it up to a bit more people.

The other thing is to do what's listed here and consign them to a local FFL. LSB is a good choice as they sell on GB. Which good for a wider market but bad for you as this will probably raise the cost to you for them to sell the guns.

You could also list them on GB yourself and list that they are not available for sale in CA. That way you don't have to worry about the state's transaction limit.
            Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

It depends if you want top dollar or if you just want them gone. Selling as a lot you will not get near top dollar more like 40-60% less especially if you do it at a store.
Like the above said list them here and you can probably sell them in a few lots and maximize your $$

Thank you all for the feedback.

I have one question... For off-roster guns, would the likely dealer sale or consignment price be substantially reduced (due to local dealers being restricted from reselling off-roster)?

Off roster is actually a benefit if they are consigned as PPT they can be sold legally in CA. Auction route cna be risky because you do not control the final price.

It's like gambling unless you have reserves which auctions only allow ok very expensive items.

If they are sold to a dealer, they can only sell them to exempt CA residents or out of state.

If they are consigned to a dealer they are treated as PPT and can be sold to any CA resident.

Since you have some off roster it might be better; financially, to sell them yourself. Of course that depends on what they are. Just because they are off roster doesn't make them worth a ton of money.

I'd take them to Carol Watsons Auctions. They seem to be getting the best prices on guns, sometimes for even the outrageous prices you see for off roster guns on calguns. She's fair and organized and financially sound and has a big following on proxibid

Little Johns was in Chapter 11, and that could spell misery for consigners.

Gunslingers is an option but he's pretty far from OC.
