unlike a lot of oils, pig fat will actually migrate towards a heat source while most other oils will move away from it

2 eggs (or more if you want).

      2 bunches green onions

1/2 cup soy sauce (kikkoman). (more or less to taste) ...

I use 3 slices of bacon for 1 cup of rice!
Is it really 12 cups or 1 to 2 cups?
I've started using a little oyster sauce in my recipe, like it so far.

Why would you be putting lube in the chamber?

I save my bacon grease and chicken grease for gravy. It’s good.

Whale oil was used extensively as a lubricant, especially for firearms. In fact, the reason the terms "coal oil" (for kerosene) and "mineral oil" were used, was because prior to crude oil distillation, all greases and oils came from plants and animals. There is no particular reason to assume that natural greases and oils will not work as lubricants since they had been used as lubricants for tens of thousands of years. I just don't know of any data on the stuff, and I am certain each type would have its own special issues. Such as rancidity.

As a baldness cure, they used to rub bear grease on their heads.

you can understand the logic; Bears are hairy, therefore, bear grease will cause hair to grow on a bald head. It did not cause hair to grow, but sales did make someone rich.

4 cups uncooked make about 12 cups cooked.

the original recipe is my dad's, and was an example of how to feed a family for very little when you are poor or on a budget.

of course as the pictures show, i am using more generous amounts of bacon.

my dad would typically make this for breakfast on a sunday when we had leftover rice.
we would have fried eggs with the yolks broken into the rice for extra gooey goodness.

Wouldn't it be "Bare Grease" for a baldness cure...?

Have some friends from Germany, they also use rendered goose fat. Called schmaltz (not sure of the spelling). Schmaltz is gross.

I agree that animal fats were used as lube & protectants on firearms for the first 700 years of their existance, but these were mostly loose spec'd black powder weapons. This means low fire rate and temperature guns where the animal fat didn't burn off.

Modern guns are cartridge fed, rifled and fast fire so animal fats no longer should be considered...

However, plant based oils & greases can be used. Coconut oil is the best example with it being 97% of Frog Lube.
Also, sunflower seed oil would appear to work very well. In WW2, the Germans suffered when their guns sludged-up and froze when using petroleum based lubes in Russia's winter, then they copied the Russians who used sunflower seed oil on their weapons and never had functional issues.

And if bear grease cured baldness, bears would already be extinct!
