    Bacon grease

Randomly came across this vid where the host tests bacon grease against engine oil. The results surprised me. Less wear and a cleaner engine than motor oil (and he didn't even filter the bacon grease)

At the end he hypothesizes that some of the bacon grease might be slipping past the rings and actually cleaning the engine.

It probably won't replace the P in CLP, but since we all love our bacon here on Calguns , anyone with something of an ammo stash want to do a test and report back?

Maybe our most beloved could some how also be the answer to a clean running DI system???

If you ran bacon grease in the crankcase and french fry oil in the gas tank you have one great smelling car!

Bacon grease makes wonderful cooking grease. Why waste it on your guns?

Gonna go out on a limb here, and suggest that your bacon fried rice with bacon won't miss a few drops of bacon grease

bacon grease would work fine as a rifle lubricant - right after you apply it. The problem with organic greases/oils is that they are unstable. They will go rancid, spoil, and break down fairly quickly. Especially when they get hot, they will burn and evaporate quickly too. Try putting some bacon grease in a skillet, turn up the the stove heat to full, and see what happens over the next 15 minutes. Synthetic oils/greases have been around for a long time for a reason.

Bacon grease in the fridge. Heavily coat your cast iron skillet, pour corn bread batter into hot pan and bake. You are welcome

bacon grease is more valuable to me for cooking eggs.

ftr, i use lucas marine grease and penn reel oil. cheap and made to work in harsher conditions than your guns are likely to see, with corrosion inhibitors.

In an engine, after it cools down, good luck cranking it over, especially if it's cold.

If I used my bacon grease for firearms lube i wouldn't have any for my scrambled eggs.
