Here's my last message to the seller and his reply. I'll let you all decide my next course of action.. in a previous message, I asked the seller, What brand scope was on the upper" he said it was a Vortex and it's in fact a Primary Arms in the pics he provided.. check out his reply when I notified him. Should I just walk away or see what happens next? Thanks.. and God Bless..

Post the user name or we cannot help you. We need to see the 2 iTrader feedback he has, who left them, when, and for what. And we need to see any of his posts anywhere on the forum. The details matter when it comes to spotting a scammer. The iTrader count means little when it is so low, it could have been left by sock puppet accounts.

It's surely sad that it has come to this on the market place but I guess it's a sign of the times. When I joined, just jumped in, nobody questioned me and I had good times. Maybe I was lucky but met a ton of great people and never even hinted like I was going to be stung. My itrader should be about double and through all of those dealings only got stood up once, after a 3 hour drive but so be it. Sorry to all for crashing post, but read countless threads about this. Also crazy that with all I read there is still so many newbs that can't think for themselves or need so much advise on how to navigate a situation.

Big thanks to everyone that responded to my post. Sorry for being such a newb and needing the help. I honestly didn't know where to look or how to navigate and find similar posts. To comment on the last post, I can think for myself, but when everything is sold out and a seller responds to your WTB ad with something back ordered until 9/30/2021, it makes you think about taking chances. I'm glad I didn't roll the dice and I learned a lot about what to look for and what not to do here. This particular seller has a Itrader rating of 2 and 9 posts. All the posts are just comments in discussion areas and the ratings are from users that joined around the same time as seller within days of each other. Doesn't prove anything, but all red flags. needless to say, way to risky. Thanks again and God bless...

Yes, please report to the mods. The response to WTB ads is getting more sophisticated. The responders are sticking around for a while, post on mundane topics or even gun topics, but nothing with any red flags for a scammer. I'd imagine there are even fake iTrader numbers being boosted by shill accounts.

Other than you spotting the fake pics, which is common, NO seller is going to work that hard with you to get you to buy his stuff. Send pics with different scopes and time stamps, etc? Any real seller is going to tell you to piss off. GLad you asked beforehand rather than come on afterward to cry about it.

Serious question- do you know how to inspect an upper?

Are you receiving 6061 or 7075 parts on that upper?
Who made the barrel? If the seller said it’s a colt- can you check?
If advertised as 1:7 or 1:9- can you check?

Some people only buy face to face when dealing with used.
Some people buy when the seller has a strong history of buying and selling.
Some buy new with a warranty from a tier one or two manufacturer
