Escondido Fish & Game @ 730AM with a temperature of 36 -- several people on the pistol and rifle ranges. WTF it's really cold (for wimpy Californians).

Not very many shooters on pistol ranges or rifle ranges. I've been shooting like crazy. I have plenty of ammo. I stocked up like a M'Fer when times were good.

I make a point of letting new shooters put a couple rounds through mine if they're friendly and respectful and listen to me on safety.

While I could shoot .22 all day (plenty stocked from sales) every weekend I'm also enjoying my front stuffers right now. No issues getting the real black and I have cases of caps. Newbies always enjoy getting to fire them.

              This guy gets it.

Rather than being dismissive and having contempt for new shooters, even those brought in through gaming, we need to welcome them into the fold.

New shooters are future Republican voters.

Just came back from Angeles range today. I arrived at 845 and was expecting a line out the door. It was pretty empty. I walked right in to pay and there was a good amount of empty benches on both the rifle and the pistol side.

Been awhile since I've been out there. Meaning to go again. Have they recovered since the fires couple years ago? I.e. still operating out a of a trailer, porta-potties, etc.?

The main office is still near the parking lot. The bathrooms are no longer porter potties, more like a trailer. Every other bench is open. They had some ammos on the shelf but I didn't bother to ask for the price. Probably what calgunner are asking for in the market place.

It's not that bad if you know where to go and when, I got decent 9mm (Federal AE) for 39cpr at Big 5 last week and saw that they had 5.56 and other popular calibers for reasonably prices as well, maybe 5-10cpr over what it used to be but not the insane prices I see online or in some gun stores. They even had a decent supply of .22 but I didn't check the price since I don't have a gun in that shoots it.

There was another thread just a week ago asking the same, here was my reply:

I avoid ranges on the weekends, two months ago went to Angeles on a weekday afternoon and not one other person in the entire rifle side as you can see in the picture below. Then went again with my wife last month and only one other person on the rifle side. Pretty dead on the weekdays. Weekends are ridiculous still, went recently on a weekend because my sister wanted help and there was a line just to get in the checkin office.

Went to FT3 in Stanton Wednesday night, The parking lot was full by 7pm. not even street parking is available. Hop on the 91 and went to shoot at Evans.

I always have to wait for a rifle bay when I go to Angeles.
