    is firearmsguide.com complete ?

I was looking for a database of guns and I found firearmsguide.com which seems complete. I asked the creator about completeness and they claim it's %95 of all firearms.

Does anyone have experience with this database ? Or can recommendation on other databases ?

No idea. And, I'm not going to pay for a subscription to find out.
    Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

You might find Genitron.com useful (at least for handguns, no long guns), and the price to search the database is.... FREEEEEE!

It's not bad , it seems to have as many entries for semi-auto handguns as the firearmsguide.com . Since firearmsguide.com is pay it's hard to compare the actual entries.

Can't find some obscure stuff that I have . . . no "schematic" for the VZ 52 rifle

I like the looks of that genitron site. Individual pages are better laid out than Wikipho-whoever

What / How would you use this type of database?

            Lots of books exist
            Wiki exists

            IMFDB exists

How would one use a database of guns?

            Screen writing?
            Professional Witness?
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT
            (thanks to Jeff Cooper)

I'm trying to determine the rate of the modern semi-auto handgun ban in California. That's my interest in it.

For example California allows roughly 500 semi-auto handguns to be bought from an FFL new or otherwise. So I need an accurate list of modern guns to know what's available in free states. I think it's 20k guns outside California.

So, I was not familiar with that site, thank you.

But, when I went there on the front page it showed the number one gun searched so far this month as the Raven MP25. I clicked on the page for more info, not that I need more info as I've owned one for 35 years.

Now, most of the information they have listed I agree with. The thing I have problem with is the "Gun Value". It says that it was updated on 12/11/2020. I find that hard to believe as the prices of these little pocket pistols have gotten ridiculous. And it didn't just start, a few years ago people were talking about the prices people are getting for these.

They list the used price as $60, they are way off. I would buy everyone I could find at that price.

                $355.00 https://www.gunbroker.com/item/889315795
                $280.00 https://www.gunbroker.com/item/890133919
                $249.99 https://www.gunbroker.com/item/889616979
                $330.00 https://www.gunbroker.com/item/887326057

Those are completed auctions. And while there are many more at less money they are all pretty much over $100 for what was a $70 when new gun.

                  Two things to consider...

I think the prices reflect "free state", not "CA non-roster adjusted" values, and I doubt they or any of us have adjusted to "post apocalyptic Xina-virus zombie voting" pricing.

Parts and magazines are going for INSANE amounts at auction on ebay for example. I've seen one $20 mag sell well north of $100... it's for a $240 MSRP rifle... People are paying "there's no TP" prices for anything that's related to anything that goes "bang".

The marketplace here yields some equally "adjusted" valuations as you may be aware... and the occasional good deal!

I have a friend that started looking for a shotgun just slightly after March of last year... AFAIK, they still haven't found one at a "reasonable" price. It's weird out there.

Try going to a couple major retailer sites - some have filters so you literally can look at how many guns you can get currently in CA, and the myriad selection you cannot... Sportsmans Warehouse has a filter for "CA legal", it reduces your options significantly, as does "MA legal"... click, boom, cry a little at how bad it sucks!

You also might be able to ask distributors/manufacturers/multi state retailers "for academic purposes" and get at least some estimates over time, which is what I think you are interested in as a "proof of argument" that CA has illegally restricted trade and access to "modern firearms" post 2010-ish?
