Anyway, that's a Colt lower. Note where the detent is? The hole for that should exist on your Colt lower, even with the Colt threaded/screw front pivot pin assembly. There's simply nothing (no detent or spring) in the hole out of the factory.
Please Excuse the freaking annoying shiner(for lack of a better term) near the area we're talking about. My retarded friend, even after I warned him several times, reversed the screw head so it smashed the metal flat on the edge. It was a brand new lower at that time. I guess I should be happy to have a RAW tho anyways.... as you can see, no hole.

      *nod*

You'll need two holes drilled...one long one, which contains the spring and pin, and one on the side.

      Have you PMed Randall yet?

No not yet... I'm still deciding if I want to even risk that. If something were to go wrong.

He'll be honest and let you know if he can do it or not.

Ohhh. That sucks. What kind of model is this? Match Target?

Hopefully you don't have a sear block, either. That's the one bad thing about my Colt Sporter. Luckily it was the design with the blind roll pin so I was able to Dremel the sear block out with a couple of cuts.

It is a Match Target w/ sear block. That doesn't bother me as I see no reason why I would or wouldn't need one there. And I'm specially not complaining since it's a RAW. Luckily I have 2 RAW AR's. The other is a PreBan Bushmaster which of course is all standard with out the block. I want to accessorize an upper and was deciding on which lower to use. Now since I determined the front pin hole on the Colt is the standard size... I guess it really doesn't matter which lower.

What bothers me is that completely unnecessary damage my slow-in-the-head friend did to the receiver a decade ago when it was brand new. I wonder how I can repair that? You can see it in the photo, in my above post.

Well, the problem with the sear block is it prevents the use of most aftermarket triggers. I had to remove mine since I needed to install a Geissele 2-stage for High Power SR.

As far as that ding, I wouldn't even care. I've got scratches and marks on my AR. Doesn't prevent it from shooting.

If the shiny part of it annoys you, you can always use some black marker (if you're ghetto) or some bluing solution to get rid of it.

I blued it when it happened... I thought about working with the deformed metal... maybe filing it down so it doesn't have such a bur on it.

Just get the JP or DPMS adapting pins that accept standard uppers. I'm assuming that thats what you're doing, but I'd keep it original.

If the Colt lower doesn't have the hole for the detent just get pushpin-style pivot pin. It has a little ball on the end that takes the place of the detent. When you push the button on the other end of the pin the ball retracts so you can pull the pin out. KNS makes them, I would imagine other companies too.
