I started out shooting southpaw, but the past year or two I’ve trained to shoot right handed since my right eye is dominant. I never experienced much brass hitting me using either side. Occasionally I’d get weird ejection issues that left brass inside my pocket or shirt but that was really depending on the gun being shot.

An AR without the brass deflector will put fired brass against my cheek or down my shirt collar. With a brass deflector it is no problem. I sometimes get hit on the forehead by brass from my 1911s.
When I did my first range qualification with an M16A1 I got a couple of fired cases stuck to my neck. I had those marks for a long time.Comment

i'm a lefty.. i shoot left handed guns when possible...TURNING and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

the only rifle that bothers me to shoot from the shoulder is the Ruger 10/22 . For some reason the smaller brass fly's towards my neck .Old problems are like dry poop, if you let the dry poop sit it doesn't smell but the minute you decide to stir the poop with a stick, the smell comes back. Moral of the story, Don't bring up old problems!Comment

When I was in the army, the brass would often hit my right arm. When I got my M&P sport, it hit me in the face since it has no deflector. I bought a brass catcher. Problem solved. Also no need to police up the brass.It was not a threat. It was an exaggerated response to an uncompromising stance. I was taught never to make a threat unless you are prepared to carry it out and I am not a fan of carrying anything. Even watching other people carrying things makes me uncomfortable. Mainly because of the possibility they may ask me to help.Comment

I've only owned one left handed rifle and sold it because it felt funny after decades of right handed rifles. Well that isn't quite true because I have a left hand adapter on my K31 but the rest are right hand guns.
We pay a premium to buy a left hand oriented rifle and then sell at a loss when we want something else.Comment

I shoot pistols right hand, left eye...
Kimber micro .380 brass to face..
Kimber adjusted ejector.
I shoot my AK, SKSs, and other semi auto rifles like you do but these all powerfully eject far enough in front.Comment
