Sellers seem to take it seriously if they aren’t individuals. I just exchanged about 7 emails with an out of state seller convincing them the gun I wanted was on the roster - they initially refused saying it wasn’t.1. Compared to what?
2. At what cost?
3. What hard evidence do you have?

Is this the latest link for all hand gun roster: https://oag.ca.gov/firearms/certifie...ch?make=151003
What kind of key information normally we use to check? I am sure we can use the SKU number but many of the rostered guns do not have such SKU number listed, rather just the names. If we look online list, often we can match partially the name strings but not exactly/completely for the entire name strings. Wondering how to be 100% sure the online listed guns are on the roster if we have such partial name matching. Is there somewhere we can ask?
Also, the link above seems to be for handguns only, where can we find the roster for other firearms, like rifles and shotguns?
ThanksComment

No "handgun style roster" for rifle and shotgun, but they must be CA compliant.
Try searching sticky treads or Google "California assault weapon flowchart". A reputable local FFL can also guide you through.Last edited by n8vrmind; 01-22-2021, 1:00 AM.Comment

Handguns need to exactly match what is listed.
^Make, model, color, type, barrel length, caliber.
There is no roster for rifles or shotguns.sigpic

FFL is legally required to verify otherwise it will ship it back to the seller at your cost.
Seller is responsible if they are advertising it as CA Compliant. I have purchased many that say they are and use them to verify with other stores that don't mark up the price only because it is CA Compliant.Comment

A seller with half a brain would be responsible. I know CA laws better than most CA FFLs.
When somoen wants to buy form me I make sure it is legal on the roster or an offlist long gun that can be converted. Would be a waste of my time to not take the 5 minutes to verify i can ship. I have never needed to have a gun sent back to me. Only times i had guns sent back was when the CA FFL had no idea what he was doing.sigpic
