    Screws for rifles

This is probably a dumb question. How can you find replacement screws for firearms? I've gone on websites for the particular firearm but finding a specific one is a little difficult. I haven't contacted the company directly but thats the next step. Thanks for any help.

Shop gunsmithing tools (585) at Brownells, including bench blocks, hammer & punch sets, screwdrivers, and tool kits for firearm maintenance and repairs.

You didn't say what rifles you need screws for or what the screws are for so you may not find what you're looking for at the places that have been posted.

      Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

You can get exploded diagrams of most common firearms where they will list each part & part#.

Then go to Numrich to get the part

I have always had luck with McMaster-Carr (https://www.mcmaster.com/)

It helps if you know the exact type and size of screw you are looking for. If it is some type of proprietary screw that makes it more difficult.

I wanted extra action screws for my Walther KK500 smallbore rifle, of which there is still only a handful of these rifles in the USA.

All the screws on my KK500 are run of the mill metric screws and readily available from McMaster-Carr. So I now have hundreds of action screws and it cost almost nothing.

Ace has a small selection in the specialty hardware boxes.

And sometimes you have to make your own replacement. Without knowing exactly what gun and what screw, not sure how we can be of more help.

I was missing a screw on a smith and wesson handgun that my father bought in the early 90s. I contacted smith and wesson about buying one and they insisted they send one to me for free. They ended up sending a couple of them free of charge.

I think if you contact the manufacturer they will probably do this, if you are lucky. Cheap good will.

Numrich by gun make / model or McMaster-Carr if you know screw size and thread count.

Thanks for the help. The two guns that come to mind right now: 930SPX two screws from the top rear rail and the rear sight from my ruger PCC. I think the screw sets from Brownells or an equivalent would work.

The most common size screw used for attaching sights and rails to receivers and barrels on firearms is 6-48.
