    AR10 build

    hi,

I am thinking about building a new AR10 and would like to know more about the difference between. 308 or .243

So far I have been leaning towards. 243 build but have noticed parts are not easy to find or there aren't a ton of options like with a .398 .

Am I making a mistake not going the .308 route or can I make a viable. 243 around the same price? What are your opinions on either? Please fill my head with options, opinions and facts on what I should buy!

Build a .308 first then decide on a different upper later, especially if you don't reload.

Right now i see 243 on the shelves but 308 not so much. 243 is a bit more pricey also. But if you need a 308 bcg hit me up[emoji23]

Pick your round based on what you plan on using it for.

What do you plan on using it for?
        Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

i would look for ammo and buy a rifle to match, lol

i will say that i am thrilled to have something that shoots cheaper m80 ball very well, although even that is expensive to replace at the moment.

Most AR10's and the parts for them are designed for .308 ammo. Once you get away from that you start having problems, like the gun being under gassed, the buffer could be too heavy, the buffer spring too heavy. You will end up doing some tweaking to get it to cycle reliably, once you do, you may also be limited to a narrow range of ammo options.
