Modify/Limit Magazines To 10 Rounds

Technically...

It's illegal in CA to make a large capacity magazine parts kit. [PC 32311(a)]
^This includes disassembling an ammunition feeding device so that it meets the definition of a large capacity magazine parts kit.

There is no exemption to CA large capacity magazine and magazine parts kits laws for conducting maintenance, repair, or modification by a non-exempt person.
^Which is why when they made possession illegal, they gave no legal option to modify them into legal magazines. [PC 32310(d)]

Exempt persons, licensed gunsmiths, are granted exemptions that allow them to legally disassembly large capacity magazines for repair, maintenance, or modification.

When discussed by the legislature in 1999, the legislative intent of CA large capacity magazine laws was to limit non-exempt persons to only legally possess & use lawfully owned large capacity magazines and maintenance/repair to be done by a licensed gunsmith.

So if a person was to take a legally acquired, freedom week or preban, LCM apart and keep the parts in on plastic bag, that's illegal?

Freedom Week magazines could be sold on GunBroker without making mods, to the legal resident of a free State. (Check with lawyer first CYA verbiage here)....

Interestingly enough, and I did not think of this prior, but see the above post by Quiet regarding disassembling even legally acquired high cap mags, resulting in an illegal high cap mag parts kit!

While you could remove the freedom week mags from CA them sell them on gunbroker in an unmolested condition, I think you might run afoul of the "keep, offer, or expose for sale" portion of the PC if you offered them for sale while you were still in CA, even if selling to someone exempt or out of state.

This state is so jacked up, it is a miracle that we make it from sun up to sun down without getting arrested.

I use Legos sounds stupid but with different size blocks it's easy to use on a bunch of different magazines. Little super glue to the base plate done deal.
No needing to cut anything. And generally easy to find.
