build a box in your garage... simple 2x4 frame covered in Hardibacker as an outside skin for a little fire resistance...
Padlock on the doors... keeps things inside discrete
bulk ammo inside trash bags or ammo cansRule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED
Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)
Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET
Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT

Regular range ammo in large ammo containers, self defense ammo in their own containers, etc all stored in a lockable metal locker. I found an office supply place nearby that had beefy ones with lockable doors for like $150 and bought a few. Keep in mind the weight of the ammo, so you might need to reinforce the shelving. I then bolted them to the concrete floor.Best Collateral Pawn in SSF, we are doing PPTs by appointment. Call 650 589 4433, ask for Rowland or RonComment

Various sized ammo cans in the front bedroom closet. Stored on shelves, with dessicant in each one and a Golden Rod for powder. Not perfect, but close enough. Had large dead, but air-tight, deep freezer in the garage which worked for a lot of years to store powder and bullets, but I had to get rid of it to make room for a vehicle project.

In original box inside ammo cans. That way n a worse case scenario if I needed to get rid of any it is easily identifiable as factory ammo. I do not ever plan on getting rid of any but I never planned on moving back to California after I left the second time either.Comment

Wait, what, you have ammo?????????
Shhh.................
I heard people lucky enough to have ammo, keep them in locked and sealed containers like 50 cal cans or similar in cool places, with a silica pack or two in the container.
That is just a rumor I heard as nobody has seen ammo in a long time.Comment

Most of it is in ammo cans, they are inside a metal locked cabinet similar to a Stack-On.
Just in case, I also have a desiccant canister inside.
Some ammo to be shot soon in the safe.
Leftovers from the last range session are in the gear bag.Originally posted by Kestryll:
